Well…. Its been almost a week now since we’ve been in Haiti.  There has certainly been a lot of ‘firsts’ for me personally.  From the moment we landed at the airport in Haiti, to tonight eating goat for supper for the first time.  It was very good by the way.

Even though I’ve been here only a short time, I have deeply come to appreciate the Haitian people.  Their graciousness, openness and politeness is so heartwarming!

The hospital visitation deeply impacted me.  When you are in a hospital here, you have to bring your own bedding, food etc. which is usually brought in by family. The heartbreak of seeing a 13 year old girl without anyone to help her, a young woman literally held captive in the hospital until she could pay her bill.  On and on each patient has a story.  It was difficult at times to hold back the tears.

We met on the rooftop this morning at 7:30 am for devotions and then today we went on a community walk and visited ‘our neighbours’.  We shared with them, gave our testimonies,  scriptures were read, and we prayed for them.  One lady that we met, blessed us wonderfully!  When she prayed… wow, you knew she was filled with Jesus.

This afternoon we went to the beach.  A great time was had by all.  Although, Byron stepped on a sea urchin, there was a remedy to cure it.  Ask him the Sunday he gets back what the remedy was!  Lol lol

Gods blessing upon you.  Hugs to you all.
