I have to say that it has been a pleasure to work along side our fellow "Linkers" as we share this adventure in Haiti! Everyones willingness to help wherever there is a need is so encouraging! We have been blessed to have so many different ways to serve on this trip. Shanelle has been able to work some in the clinic. We were able to do a concrete pour at the Childrens Village, which was hard work but rewarding. We have painted at the first duplex at the Childrens Village and varnished doors and trim at the Tech School. VBS was a hit and so was the craft...who knew pipecleaners could be so much fun...And we have updated almost 100 highschool student sponsor information cards with much help from Bruce the photographer, Delynne the administrator, Ashley and Lace the french translators, and Alyssa on data entry! The presence of the Lord is very evident here and we are grateful to be a part of what He is doing here on the ground in Grand Goave. And we are very thankful for those of you back home who have so graciously sent us and are holding down the forts without us, and are keeping us in your prayers too! Please continue to do so!
One thing amazing tonight was the gifts that were bought through the Christmas on line catalog were actually given away at the church tonight. Quite the sight to see goats, bikes, chickens and other supplies all in the church - something you don't see everyday in Canada. Watching the people's faces as they recieved there gift was awesome. It is neat to know that some of the items the Linkers purchased at Christmas time contributed to that joy on the faces of the Haitian people. We are so glad to be able to share in some of these moments.
Hi to everyone back home! Na we pita! (See you later!)
