International Board of Directors:

  Marc & Lisa Honorat- Founders, President & Secretary

Marc serves as the President on the Canada and US board. Lisa serves as Secretary on the Canada board and a director on the US board. Marc studied in Jamaica at Christ for the Nations Bible College and finished his Bachelor of Theology degree at Evangel Bible College in Calgary, Alberta. Lisa served in Italy as a missionary teacher for 2 years after attending art college in WA and then moved to Calgary to complete her degree in Music Ministry at Evangel Bible College. They work on field in Haiti as the Chief Executive Officers, carrying out the vision and goals of Haiti ARISE Ministries. They have four children, with one more on the way and are passionate about the work for Haiti.

Lane Roberts- Chief Governing Officer

Lane Roberts and his wife, Margaret have been married for 31 years and reside on a ranch just outside Airdrie, Alberta.  Lane’s career in the Oil and Gas Industry has taken them to a number of global locations through the years, and currently he is the owner of Hunter Well Science, a research and engineering company creating new technologies for oilfield use.  Margaret managed the raising of three children through these years and now her current career is in the Fitness industry.  Their church involvement has included music and youth ministries in the local church.  They have been supporters of Haiti Arise and actively involved since its inception, including fundraising, speaking engagements, plans development and Lane is now serving as the CGO on the Haiti ARISE International Board.

James Roberts - Vice-President

James Roberts is the Vice-President of the International board. James has served in many capacities since the inception of Haiti ARISE in 2002 and has been serving on the Canadian board since then. He is also an educator and businessman and has been involved in establishing a Bible College and Christian school, owned and operated a restaurant and now sells water filtering systems. He also works as a home inspector. His expertise in many areas has brought strength to the Haiti ARISE team. He has traveled numberous times to Haiti and has been instrumental in planning and development of the Haiti ARISE vision and projects. He and his wife, Michele, live in Calgary, Alberta and have four children. Michele has been a tremendous support of Haiti ARISE as well, helping in fundraising and event planning. James is honored to be a member of Haiti ARISE's International board.

Jason Quantz- Director, Fundraising Committee

Jason Quantz, and his wife, Tammy have been married for over 20 years, have 3 children and live in the country NW of Calgary, Alberta.  They became involved with Haiti ARISE around 2004, through Spray Lake Sawmills in Cochrane, AB, where Jason was VP of Operations.  Over the past 8 years SLS, with Jason’s leadership, has been a gathering point for goods and supplies for containers, helping to assemble and ship, as well as donate lumber for the building projects for Haiti.  Jason and Tammy have made many trips to Haiti, post earthquake and have had the opportunity to have two of their kids join them on the trips.  They have also helped their church get involved in sending work teams for reconstruction projects.  Jason serves as a director on the Haiti ARISE International board and Tammy helps with fundraising and event planning for Haiti ARISE.

Gwen Day- Director, Strategic Planning Committee

Gwen and her husband, Don Day, have been married for 32 years. Together they found and committed their lives to the Lord Jesus two years after they were married. They have three adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. They live on a third generation family farm near Carstairs, AB. Canada. They own and operate Silver Willow Sporting Club, which they began together 24 years ago. Gwen served as an elected official for 6 years and received her board governance training while there. She currently sits on several local boards and committees in her community. Gwen has served on Church boards and taught Senior High Sunday School and led ladies retreats for several years for her local church.  She is a certified mediator and facilitator. When she's not busy with her consulting work or Silver Willow commitments, Gwen is enjoying her time in her studio creating mixed media and encaustic artworks. She traveled to Haiti in the spring of 2011 to assist with an after school program for children attending the Haiti Arise school.  She completed the entrance sign and a mural on the residence building while there. Her experience changed how she sees her world. Gwen has taken every opportunity since her trip to share about her journey through community presentations. She looks forward to her next trip back. Gwen is  honored to be a part of the Haiti Arise International board.

Edward Allan- Director, Fundraising Committee


Edward Allan, and his wife, Francine, live in Leduc, AB and have two grown sons. Pastor Edward is Lead Pastor of Daystar Christian Assembly. He was born and raised in Edmonton AB. He graduated from Grant MacEwan Community College retaining a Diploma in Correctional Services. He also pursued His Theological Studies through Bethesda Bible College and Christian International Theological Seminary earning a Bachelor of Theology. During his career as a public servant with the Province of Alberta he decided to also establish a Local Church in the community of Leduc AB 15 years ago. The Church grew quickly and with a team of strong business leaders with charitable hearts a vibrant House of Worship continues to thrive in the community of Leduc AB. Pastor Ed is the primary visionary leader providing oversight to the Board of Directors to ensure the Church continues to move forward providing services to its congregation that are consistent with its constitution  and the community at large. Pastor Ed travels overseas, Western Canada, and the United States assisting other Churches as a Leadership Consultant, Teacher and fellow minister. He is also a member of “Ministers Fellowship International”. Pastor Ed has been involved with Haiti ARISE Ministries as a supporting church since 2005, sending mission team and has traveled himself to Haiti three times to teach and preach in the church and at the Annual Pastors/ Leaders conference at Haiti ARISE. He is now serving on the Haiti ARISE International board as a director.

Todd Swisher- Director, Fundraising Committee


Todd Swisher and his wife, Jan, have been serving Eastside City Church for more than 15 years in many capacities, namely as Youth Pastors, teaching in Evangel Bible College and Todd has coached basketball for Eastside Christian Academy. They have recently become the lead pastors of ECC and their vision is to raise up leaders who will break the strongholds over generations and forge ahead according to the purposes of God. They have a unique message that inspires humility, brokenness and servanthood. Pastor Todd’s greatest strength is his ability to lead without compromise, speaking the truth in love and casting a vision which inspires people to  become more like Jesus. The Honorats served with Todd and Jan on their youth ministry team while they were in Bible College at Evangel before starting Haiti ARISE Ministries. Todd and Jan have been a tremendous support to Marc and Lisa and Haiti ARISE through their continued relationship. As well, Todd has traveled to Haiti on numerous trips to help lead sports camps, youth intern teams and minister to Haitian pastors and leaders. It is an honor to now also have Todd serving on the Haiti ARISE International board as a director. He and Jan have two kids and live in Calgary.

Gerald & Leatrice Santo- Directors, Fundraising Committee

Gerald & Lea Santo are originally from Hawaii and now live in Prosser, WA. He was Professor and Nematologist with Washington State University for 28 years and retired in 2002. In 1974 he established Northwest Nema-Lab, Inc. for analysis of nematodes detrimental to agricultural crops. Gerald has been married to Leatrice Santo for 43 years and they have three sons. Lea received her M.S. degree in Microbiology and worked at UH, UC Davis and WSU Prosser as a research assistant in electron microscopy and tissue culture. They are members of Prosser Community Church and leads a Bible study and leadership class, went on mission trip to Bulgaria in 2006 and to Haiti in June 2009 with Haiti ARISE. Gerald and Lea have been faithful supporters of Haiti ARISE for many years and now both serve on the US Haiti ARISE board and Gerald on the International board as director. They have a tremendous heart for the people of Haiti.

Randy Fox- USA Vice-President, Strategic Planning Committee

Randy was born and raised in the Lower Yakima Valley of Washington state. Randy works at Washington State University in Prosser, WA and has been there 28 years as a Construction and Maintenance Mechanic. Randy spent many years volunteering and coaching for his kids’ sports activities and currently is an assistant wrestling coach at Prosser Middle School.  He was also a Boy Scout leader for 15 years.  For the past seven years Randy has served his community as a Fire Commissioner/Chairman for Benton County Fire District.  Randy & his wife Lynda have three grown children and are a members of Prosser Community Church, serving as Elders of the Church.  Randy is a men’s Bible study leader and co-leads marriage and finance classes with Lynda. After the church’s Haiti mission trip in 2009, Randy knew this was where God wanted him and his wife to serve, to come along side Haiti ARISE and serve the nation of Haiti. Randy Fox serves as the Vice-President of the US board of directors for Haiti ARISE Ministries and sits on the international board of Haiti ARISE as director.

Haiti ARISE Staff:

Jessica Lawrence- Volunteer Chief Financial Officer

Jessica is a Chartered Accountant and served on the board of Haiti ARISE Ministries as Treasurer from 2008- 2012. Jessie continues to serve the ministry in a volunteer staff position off the board, and is chair of the Finance Committee. Jessie received the Distinguished Service Award from the Alberta Chartered Accountants Association in 2011 for her outstanding work and service in non-proift, community work, as well as with thier own family business. She and her husband, John, live in Carstairs, Alberta with their four children where they operate a masonry contracting business. Jessie has been a tremendous asset with her expertise and skills in accounting, government regulations and policy writing. She also successfully homeschooled their four children through most of their early education and has served in her church in various areas. John has also been involved in taking tiling teams to Haiti and helping train the local Haitians.

Kathleen & Vernon Harrison- Children's Village Committee

Kathleen has served as the Team Coordinator for Haiti ARISE from March 2009 to November 2012. Her role has been to assist teams with the logistics of planning their trips and acts as a liaison between the team and the on-the-ground staff in Haiti.  Vernon has been very involved in leading and serving on teams to Haiti and helps in construction projects, specifically with the start of the Children's Village. Kathleen and Vernon serve on the Children's Village Committee, in charge of development and planning for the future of the children's homes and village operations, as well as in fundraising for Haiti ARISE. Kathleen also is a great asset in the area of administration for Haiti ARISE. They operate a grain & livestock farm in Brownlee, Saskatchewan and have three grown children.

Rebecca & Chris Girvan- Education Fund Administrator

Rebecca and Chris served in Haiti as team hosts and ESL & Bible College teachers for a year. Rebecca took on the administration of the Education Fund program in June 2011 after assisting over the past year in reporting and updates for sponsors. They both graduated from Briercrest College in Saskatchewan and played on the college basketball team while in school. She and Chris now live in Red Deer, Alberta and plan to return to Haiti again in the future for another long-term stay. Chris and Rebecca have just had thier first baby girl.

Anna Cole- Fundraising Events Coordinator

Anna Cole grew up in Montreal and later moved with her family to Vancouver. She attended Bible College in Rome, Italy and upon returning to Vancouver she began her career in banking for over 20 years.
She left the banking world to move into education and later in higher education working in the areas of development and fundraising as well as for non-profit organizations. She is the wife of a Worship Pastor and arranger, a mother of grown children and two grandchildren. She has travelled the world and has had the opportunity to speak at numerous ladies events and most recently in Haiti with Haiti ARISE to over 700 youth and young adults. In her spare time, she also consults with homeowners in helping them stage their home. She is currently living in Calgary, Alberta with her husband Mark, working in various departments of a local church.
